Catharine Hacker
Physical Therapy
Hi, I’m Dr. Katy Hacker. I’m a physical therapist who specializes in treating vestibular disorders and Parkinson’s disease. I believe movement is medicine, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to move through life with confidence, purpose, and a sense of possibility.
My passion for vestibular rehabilitation grew from seeing how often people with dizziness are dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told to “just live with it.” My work with people with Parkinson’s has further strengthened my belief in the importance of individualized care, meaningful movement, and helping people remain active and engaged in the lives they love.
After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin and earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, I spent the first five years of my career in Baptist Health System’s vestibular program in San Antonio. I completed the Duke University Vestibular Competency Course in 2018 to further develop my expertise in diagnosing and treating complex vestibular and balance disorders.
In addition to my vestibular specialization, I am PWR! (Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery) certified and have experience teaching group exercise classes, as well as providing 1 - on - 1 physical therapy for people with Parkinson’s disease. These experiences have reinforced my belief that movement, education, and community support can play an important role in helping people navigate the challenges of neurological and balance disorders.
My approach to care is compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be more than simply being told what exercises to perform. My goal is to help you understand your condition, feel comfortable asking questions, and develop practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I work alongside my clients to establish meaningful goals, build self-efficacy, and foster the confidence to take an active role in their health and well-being.
Through personalized, one-on-one care in the comfort of your home, my mission is to meet you where you are, help you discover what is possible, and support you in moving through your world with greater confidence and independence.
