Catharine Hacker
Physical Therapy
Hi, I’m Dr. Katy Hacker.
I became passionate about vestibular therapy after seeing how often people with dizziness were dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told to “just live with it”. Feeling unsteady affects every part of life – limiting the ability to live life to the fullest.
After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin and then completing my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, I chose to pursue advanced specialization in vestibular rehabilitation. I spent the first 5 years of my career as part of Baptist Health System’s vestibular program in San Antonio and completed the Duke University Vestibular Competency Course in 2018 to further refine my skills in diagnosing and treating complex vestibular & balance disorders.
I provide one-on one, personalized care focused solely on dizziness and balance. My mission is to help you move through your world confidently – without fear, uncertainty or limitation.
I created Steady State Physical Therapy and Wellness out of a passion for helping people with vertigo, dizziness and balance challenges regain control of their lives. I wanted to create a space where patients recieve the highest quality care - without the limitations that often come with large healthcare systems. By offering personalized, one-on-one treatment in the comfort of your own home, my goal is to make specialized physical therapy more accessible, more effective and more centered around you.
Your Experience is Unique — Your Care Should Be Too
Dizziness doesn’t look the same for everyone. For some, it feels like spinning. For others, it’s a sense of imbalance, lightheadedness, or feeling “off.” It can come and go, or be constant. It might show up when you turn your head, walk in busy environments, or even when you’re just standing still.
Because your symptoms, triggers, and goals are unique, your treatment will be too.
I take the time to understand exactly what your dizziness feels like, when it happens, and how it’s impacting your life. Through a detailed evaluation, I will identify the underlying cause and create a personalized plan designed specifically for you.
Your care may include targeted head manuevers, exercises, balance training, and strategies to help you move more confidently in the situations that challenge you most. As you progress, your plan evolves with you—so you’re always being appropriately challenged and supported. My goal is simple: help you feel steady, confident, and back in control of your daily life.
